The Ahava Papercut Ketuba has grown from the classic earlier version (The Papercut Ketuba - still available.) Above the text is the word Ahava (love, in Hebrew). Flanking and below the text is a Magen David pattern in fine paper filigree, itself surrounded by a second border of floral vine culminating in two small rectangles of roses, seen from above.

The next border out contains large sections of The Seven Species: Fig, Wheat, Barley, Palm, Olive, Vine, and Pomegranate. The Seven Species reflect the seven blessings over the bride from the wedding ceremony under the Huppah. They symbolize growth, fecundity and a connection to the real qualities of life. A Jewish tradition links the Seven Species to the seven attributes of life as they appear in the Book of the Zohar: Eternity; Spleandour; Essence; Kingdom; Glory; Kindness and Wisdom.

The central pomegranate tree is capped with the embracing line from The Song of Songs: I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine.
